Dog-Ear Magazine

It’s a bookmark. It’s a magazine. It’s free. One of Pete’s side projects that you’ll find it lurking in bookshops and libraries, or nestled between pages of other magazines. Submissions are collected and posted online. Every few months, 9 submissions are picked and a new issue is printed.

This project was brought to life after realising that the long, thin, bookmark format encourages – rather than intimidates aspiring writers and illustrators.

So far, the project has recieved praise in publications such as Creative Review, It’s Nice That, and Monocle. Supporters and financial backers include high-profile authors such as Margaret Atwood.

“In today’s art world just about anything can become a platform for curated work – but come on, would you have ever thought to turn a bookmark into a magazine? This micro-mag folds out into a readable page and folds up into a nifty bookmark. It’s a brilliantly innovative format.”
